Georg Telemann – two contrasted movements from the solo FantasiasAND

A piece of your own choice, which contrasts in period and style with your first choice.

Please record your chosen pieces/movements in their entirety where they fit within 15 minutes of recorded material. If longer, please stop at an appropriate point in the music. Cadenzas are not compulsory, but you have the option to include one subject to it fitting within your 15 minutes of music.

Your submission should also include a two-minute introduction (either as a separate video or as part of your main audition recording), outlining who you are, why you would like to study with us, and a little about the repertoire you’re playing.

研究生

Successful Stage 1 applicants will be invited to undertake a live audition at the RNCM. Here you should perform a new piece of ABRSM Grade 8 standard or above lasting no longer than five minutes. Please choose something that you think best demonstrates your skills and ability.

Interview and Quick Study

This Stage will also include an interview, where the panel would like to learn a little more about you and your future aspirations, and quick study. The quick study will be provided in advance (either during your warm-up or via email if you’re auditioning online).

If travel isn’t possible, you can opt to complete Stage 2 online, via Zoom.

苏格兰皇家音乐学院

苏格兰皇家音乐学院（Royal Conservatoire of Scotland）,简称RCS，是英国一所致力于音乐戏剧领域教学的高等院校。建立于1845年，历史悠久。

皇家伯明翰音乐学院

You should prepare TWO pieces that contrast in style and tempo. You are advised to select pieces which allow you to demonstrate to us what you can currently achieve,

so we are not looking for you necessarily to present the most difficult pieces, but

rather those which show us your strengths. We are looking for potential and for

students who are proactive and keen to learn, and not for the ‘finished article’.

Repertoire choices are therefore open, but we would suggest that anything from preGrade 8 syllabuses or similar would not represent a realistic level of achievement.

You should record a 10-15-minute recital programme of contrasting works designed to display the technical and musical aspects of your performing style.

You are advised to vary the programme with works from different periods and styles, which will show your adaptability as well as skill. We are looking for a secure level of technique and musical understanding, as well as for an enquiring mind and a collaborative nature.
